Q: What is The Pointless Pursuit?

A: The Pointless Pursuit is a scavenger hunt, adventure race and problem solving experience all rolled into one where two person teams, run, walk or take public transit in search of challenges scattered throughout the city. It's like a one day Amazing Race.

Q: What kind of challenges?

A: The challenges are fun and lighthearted and are designed to be completed by racers of any age. You may have to find something, eat something (nothing gross) or do something. The challenges may be mental or physical but all of them are fun.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The registration fee is $39 per person ($78 per team) through August 31st. From September 1-11 the cost is $90 per team. And on race day, the cost is $100 per team.

Q: Is there a set course?

A: There is no set course. Each team decides the order they want to complete their challenges. Our race has challenges scattered throughout Columbus’ notable districts from German Village to University District.

Q: Is there an age restriction?

A: No, but every racer under the age of 18 must be teamed with an adult and have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. We recommend racers of 10 years old and above based on the complexity/nature of some of the challenges but there is no official restriction.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Each team must have…
- A digital camera or a camera phone to take pictures.

Q:
How long is the race?

A: Most teams can expect to cover 5-7 miles (use of COTA is permitted) and finish in 3-4 hours or before the 5 hour time limit.

Q: What should I wear? What if it rains?

A: The race will go on rain or shine so please dress appropriately. Each team member will be given a race shirt and a race number that they must wear unless they are wearing a costume/coordinated outfit. We definitely encourage costumes of any and all kinds. We will have a prize for the best costume as judged by the other participants.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: We don't offer refunds for any reason but you have the option to transfer your registration to another person. To switch your registration, please email the name of the teammate being replaced and the new teammate's name, email address and t-shirt size kristen@thewarrenagencyllc.com

Q: Do I have to be a runner to compete?

A: Absolutely not. The race is designed to award strategy, creativity and resourcefulness over physical endurance.

Q: Do I have to live or work off of High Street to be competitive?

A: No, every team that thinks fast, strategizes and works well together has an opportunity to do well. Plus, you can phone a friend, use the internet or get the assistance of total strangers to help you find challenge location.
